Get Prepared

Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps in completing the Morehouse Online application:

1 — Make sure you’re eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of classes. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Connect with your Morehouse Admissions Counselor

After Guild application approval, your Morehouse Admissions Counselor should be reaching out to you within the next couple of days to guide you through the next steps. If you have not been contacted within a week, you can contact Morehouse Online Admissions at:

  • SMS Text Number: 470-594-5986 (SMS/Texting only)

  • Email contact: admissions@online.morehouse.edu

  • Schedule a Call: https://meetings.grooveapp.com/morehouseonline

Important Note: When reaching out, be sure to confirm that you are part of the Guild partnership.

3 — Complete the Morehouse Online application process

Once you have connected with a Morehouse Admissions Counselor, complete Morehouse Online’s application process. You can connect with your Admissions Counselor for assistance throughout the process. Be sure to choose the same learning program that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own.

4 — Start FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The Federal School Code for Morehouse College is 001582. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.

Understand financial aid (Morehouse College official website)

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

5 — Complete KHEAA verification process (if applicable)

Once you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the Department of Education randomly selects FAFSA applications for a process called verification. We partnered with KHEAA to process these verifications. If selected, you will begin receiving notifications from KHEAA to create an account in order to submit the requested information as required by the DOE. All communication regarding the verification process will come from KHEAA from this point forward. Once you complete the requirements, the Financial Aid Office will continue with the financial aid award process

6 — Request transcripts and Letters of Recommendation

Morehouse Online will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You must provide documentation of Proof of High School graduation/equivalent completion, have no fewer than 15 college credits with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and identify as a man to transfer to Morehouse Online. You may be able to use a service like Parchment to have your transcripts sent.

Students may also transfer a maximum of 60 credit hours. If you have more than 60 transfer credits you are still eligible to apply but will not be able to transfer over 60 credit hours.

Additionally, this program is not open to students who have already earned a bachelor's degree.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Morehouse Online.

  • A foreign credential evaluation of your transcripts by World Education Services (WES) or Center for Educational Documentation (CED) is required. It must be sent directly to Morehouse from the credential agency.

  • An English translation of your non-English transcripts is required.

  • An English proficiency exam (TOEFL) is required.

  • Confirm requirements with Morehouse's Admissions Department before paying out of pocket for an evaluation, translation, and/or exam.

  • If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).
