Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Augusta University:

Tech Requirements

Students may be required to download software to complete coursework as part of this program and should have access to a personal computer in order to download and access the required software. This software may not be downloadable or accessible on an employer-issued computer. Please ensure you have reliable computer capability and internet connectivity.

A full Technology Checklist will be provided to all students during prior to orientation. Expected laptop competencies include:

  • Use software and hardware for word processing, presentation design, and electronic journal retrieval.

  • Access and use web browsers, internet search engines, varied web plug-ins (Adobe Acrobat, Real Player, Shockwave), web-based library resources, and on-line databases.

  • Access to the internet for web enhanced and web based courses.

  • Send and receive e-mail, send and receive electronic documents, open and attach documents to e-mail.

  • Participate in on-line course delivery via the learning management system (LMS).

  • Participate in on-line web conferencing.

  • Take assessment using an online testing system.

  • Update virus protection and operating system updates each week.

  • Ability to print required documents.


1 — Make Sure You're Eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Submit Your Augusta University Application

You will receive an email from Augusta University with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Be sure to choose the same learning program on your Augusta University application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own. Please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the Augusta University application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Augusta University.

Make sure to read the email completely to understand what is required for your application.

  1. You may be required to write a statement of interest for your Augusta University, so remember to get started on the application in advance of any deadlines.

  2. In addition, you may be required to speak with an Admissions Counselor at Augusta University.

  3. You may also be required to provide references. Please follow the instructions provided by Augusta University in your application process, and request letters of recommendation from professional or academic references who can best speak to your ability to be successful in this program.

3 — Start Your FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. Use the Augusta University code, 157900. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

4 — Send Your Transcripts to Augusta University

If you have taken college classes before, Augusta University will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.

If you were able to submit a request for your college transcripts in your Guild Pre-Application, you should be good to go!

If you were not able to request transcripts in your Guild Pre-Application, contact any colleges you have attended and have them send your official transcripts directly to Augusta University.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there may be extra requirements to complete to enroll at Augusta University. Learn more here. Schedule a meeting with your Augusta University academic advisor to get ready for starting your program. Your academic advisor is available to help you register for courses, support you in your Augusta University program, discuss course-related questions, and share resources available to you at Augusta University. 5 — Complete Your Augusta University Orientation Process

Make sure to take time to complete the Augusta University orientation process to learn more details about your program, expectations, and keys to your academic success!

6 — Get Your Books & Materials Ready

Get your books and other materials ready for your courses. Check the syllabus for each course to find out what you need, and be sure to keep your receipts - you may need them for returns or reimbursements.

7 — Continue in Coursework Past the Add/Drop Date

Make sure you complete you are actively engaged in your coursework past the add/drop date in order to stay enrolled in your program at Augusta University. Failure to do so may result in you being automatically dropped from the program or prevent you from continuing.

8 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support

Next, you’ll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at Augusta University.
