Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Cengage Work:
State Requirements
Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certificate
If you are currently a resident of California, Nevada, or Washington State you will not be able to complete enrollment for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certificate at this time.
Pharmacy Technician Certificate
If you are currently a resident of North Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Ohio, or West Virginia, you will not be able to complete enrollment for the Pharmacy Technician Certificate at this time.
Tech Requirements
Students may be required to download software to complete coursework as part of this program and should have access to a personal computer in order to download and access the required software. This software may not be downloadable or accessible on an employer-issued computer.
1 — Make Sure You're Eligible
Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.
2 — Create Your Cengage Work Student Account - DO NOT do this until your start date
Within the week of your start date, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to create your student account at Cengage Work. If you do not receive this email within the week of your start date, make sure to check your spam folder and then reach out to Cengage Work using Guild.Enrollments@cengage.com. Remember: do not create this account before your start date, or your tuition might not be covered by your employer.
Please be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when creating your student account at Cengage Work. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Cengage Work.
3 — Complete Your Cengage Work Onboarding Process
Make sure to take time to complete the Cengage Work onboarding process outlined in your welcome email to learn more details about your program, expectations, and keys to your academic success! Failure to do so may result in you being automatically dropped from the program or prevent you from continuing.

Sign your Student Enrollment/Participation Agreement
Complete “Getting Started” course within the first 10 days of program enrollment
4 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support
Once you've completed your onboarding process, you'll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at Cengage Work.
5 — Complete Your Coursework at Cengage Work
Your Guild support network, along with your Cengage Work support team, will be there to offer guidance and support throughout your program. You have one year to complete your program from your enrollment date. Don't hesitate to reach out to Guild Support for help or Cengage Work Guild.Support@Cengage.com with any questions you may have!
