Step 1: Get Accepted | Step 2: Get Registered | Step 3: Get Started
Get Prepared
Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within 7 to 10 business days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps to completing your degree or certification through CSU College of Business:
1 — Understand the process
Make sure you understand what you’ll need to do to receive tuition assistance and how to apply that funding towards a Master’s Degree or Certificate through CSU’s College of Business. Tuition assistance is the word we use to describe the portion of your tuition that’s covered by your employer. In other words, it’s the “benefit” that you receive when you enroll in a qualified program.
2 — Check eligibility
Before you start the application process, make sure you’re eligible for your company’s education benefit. To do this, sign into your Guild account and look in the upper right corner for your eligibility snapshot. We recommend that you check your eligibility regularly. If you do not see your snapshot, contact Guild support to learn more about what eligibility means at your company.
3 — Submit your CSU application and transcripts
If your Guild application is approved, you’ll receive an email from Guild that includes the link to the CSU College of Business website to start your online application:
Make sure that you apply for the same CSU College of Business program that you applied to through Guild. Your approval by Guild to move forward in this program could become invalid if you apply to a different program, which would result in you becoming responsible for paying for your program out of pocket.
After finishing your application, you’ll need to have your official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities sent to CSU.
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at CSU’s College of Business.
A course-by-course evaluation of your transcripts by World Education Services (WES) is required. The evaluation must be sent directly to CSU’s College of Business from the credential agency.
An English proficiency exam with a minimum score is required. The test must have been taken in the past two years. Please review CSU’s policy for English proficiency:
Confirm requirements with CSU College of Business's Admissions Department by emailing cob_grad_admissions@mail.colostate.edu before paying out of pocket for an evaluation and/or exam.
If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).
You'll receive an admission decision once CSU College of Business has received all of your supporting documents. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the admissions counselors at CSU College of Business. You can email them at cob_grad_admissions@mail.colostate.edu
4 — Finalize FAFSA
You’ll need to finalize your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and accept or decline awards. You can find the application on the FAFSA website. The Federal School Code for CSU is 001350. Based on the information you provided in the FAFSA, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.
Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.
