Get Prepared
Congratulations on taking the first steps towards your education goals.
Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you will receive an email soon.
If you received your approval email, double congratulations as you begin your education journey!
Next Steps
Your contact information is on its way to the Excelsior partnership admissions team! An Excelsior partnership admissions counselor will send an introductory email to you within the next 24-48 hours providing you with next steps to apply to Excelsior and create your MyExcelsior account.
When you receive this introduction, please feel free to connect with your admissions counselor, identify that you are a Guild student and who your employer is, and move forward with completing your online Excelsior application. If you have not heard from an Excelsior partnership admissions counselor within 48 hours of your Guild application being approved, please feel free to email the partnership admissions team partneradmissions@excelsior.edu or give them a call 844-843-9296.
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Excelsior University.
Official transcripts are required if you’d like your previous credits evaluated for potential transfer. A foreign credential evaluation of your transcripts by Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) may be required. Please review Excelsior University’s policy for foreign credential evaluation:
An English proficiency exam with a minimum score may be required. Please review Excelsior University’s policy for English language proficiency here:
Confirm requirements with Excelsior University's International Admissions Department by emailing international@excelsior.edu before paying out of pocket for an evaluation and/or exam.
If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).
Understand Tuition Assistance and FAFSA
In addition to confirming admissions requirements, make sure you understand what you’ll need to do to receive tuition assistance. Tuition assistance is the word we use to describe the portion of your tuition that’s covered by your employer. In other words, it’s the “benefit” that you receive when you enroll in a qualified program.
Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.
