Congratulations!
Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Ivy Tech:
1 — Applying to Ivy Tech
In 1-2 business days after your Guild application is approved, you will receive an email from Ivy Tech with your unique application link. Do not complete the General Application through Ivy Tech’s website, as this may cause issues in connecting your Guild account. If you do not receive the invitation please reach out to IvyGuild@ivytech.edu.
2 — Tech Requirements
Ivy Tech requires learners have to access to either a laptop or a desktop computer with the latest web browser versions and reliable internet access. IvyLearn (Canvas) runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser. Ivy Tech recommends using Google Chrome as your web browser.
3 — Make Sure You're Eligible
Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

5 — Check Your Inbox for a Welcome Email and Connect with an Ivy Tech Representative
Once you’ve been accepted to the college, Ivy Tech will send you a welcome email, and an Ivy Tech representative will reach out to schedule a phone call to complete your enrollment within 48-72 hours.
During your call, an Ivy Tech Representative will walk you through the enrollment process, including:
Completing your knowledge assessment* or providing documents for a waiver
The FAFSA process
Creating an academic completion plan and, if ready, registering for classes.
*The Knowledge Assessment is Ivy Tech’s placement assessment to determine which classes you should take first. The knowledge assessment is free and completely online through your student portal.
6 — Send Your Transcripts to Ivy Tech
If you have taken college classes before, Ivy Tech will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.
If you were able to submit a request for your college transcripts in your Guild Pre-Application, you should be good to go!
If you were not able to request transcripts in your Guild Pre-Application, contact any colleges you have attended and have them send your official transcripts directly to Ivy Tech.
Note: You may be able to use a service to request your transcripts. To learn more about this process, click here to access Guild's Transcript Help Center.
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Ivy Tech.
A foreign credential evaluation of your transcripts by a NACES member agency is required. The evaluation must be sent directly to Ivy Tech via iss@ivytech.edu from the credential agency. Please review Ivy Tech’s policy for international transcripts:
An English proficiency exam may be required. Please review Ivy Tech’s English language proficiency requirements:
Confirm requirements with Ivy Tech's International Student Services Department before paying out of pocket for an evaluation and/or exam.
