Congratulations!
Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry; you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps to completing your degree through Johnson & Wales University’s College of Professional Studies:
1 — Be on the lookout for a call from a JWU admissions associate
Before you submit your application to Johnson & Wales College of Professional Studies, please wait for a JWU admissions associate to contact you to walk you through the enrollment process. You will receive a phone call, text, or email from Johnson & Wales University within 24-48 hours of receiving your Guild approval email with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Please be aware that the phone call will be from a 401 area code. When they contact you, please respond as soon as possible. If you do not hear from an admissions associate within that 48-hour time period, feel free to email us at cpsadmissions@jwu.edu or call us at 855-598-1881.
2 — Apply to JWU after connecting with your admissions associate
Once you have made contact with your admissions associate, you can submit your application to Johnson & Wales University. The application is a short process and shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes. Be sure to choose the same academic program on your Johnson & Wales University application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own.
In addition, please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the Johnson & Wales University application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Johnson & Wales University.
3 — Send Your Transcripts to Johnson & Wales University
In addition to your application, Admissions must receive several other documents to make a final admissions decision.
Johnson & Wales University will try to request and pay for your high school, GED, and college/university transcripts on your behalf. Please fill out this transcript request authorization form completely with your information for each institution you’ve attended. Your JWU Admission Associate will reach out if additional information is required to request your transcript(s).
To help you save time towards your degree, our liberal transfer credit policies give you the maximum credit for your previous college-level education. We accept most previously earned college credit from regionally and nationally accredited institutions.
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Johnson & Wales University.
A course-by-course (with GPA and course levels) evaluation of your transcripts is required and must be sent directly to Johnson & Wales from the credential agency. Please review Johnson & Wales's policy for international transcripts:
A word-for-word English translation of your non-English transcripts is required. Your documents must also be submitted in their original language.
An English proficiency exam may be required. Please review Johnson & Wales’s English language proficiency requirements:
Confirm requirements with a Johnson & Wales Admissions Associate before paying out of pocket for an evaluation, translation, and/or exam.
