Congratulations!

Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS):

State Requirements

State availability and requirements may vary by MCPHS program. Some programs are available nationwide, while others may have state-specific restrictions or require an approved clinical or in-person placement. Programs associated with professional licensure or certification may also have additional requirements that differ by state.

Before applying, review the requirements for your selected program and confirm with MCPHS that it is available in your state and that you can meet any clinical, in-person, licensure, or certification requirements.

Tech Requirements

To participate successfully in your MCPHS program, you will need:
A personal Windows or Mac laptop
Windows 11 or macOS Tahoe (version 26)
At least 8 GB of RAM and 250 GB of available storage
A compatible, updated web browser
A webcam, microphone, and speakers or headset
Reliable internet access
Microsoft Office, antivirus software, and any applications required for your courses

Tablets, Chromebooks, and similar devices may not be sufficient as your primary computer. Additional software may be required depending on your program or course, and employer-issued computers may restrict access to required downloads.

1 — Make Sure You're Eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Submit Your MCPHS Application

You will receive an email from MCPHS with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Be sure to choose the same learning program on your MCPHS application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own. Please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the MCPHS application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at MCPHS.

Make sure to read the email completely to understand what is required for your application.
1. You may be required to write a statement of interest for your MCPHS, so remember to get started on the application in advance of any deadlines.
2. In addition, you may be required to speak with an Admissions Counselor at MCPHS.
3. You may also be required to provide references. Please follow the instructions provided by MCPHS in your application process, and request letters of recommendation from professional or academic references who can best speak to your ability to be successful in this program.

Next, connect with MCPHS’s Admissions Department to complete your application & enrollment process. For more information, please go directly to https://www.mcphs.edu/admission-and-aid/apply.

3 — Start Your FAFSA

If you are applying for a degree program, gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. Use the MCPHS code 2165. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.

You can also go directly to https://www.mcphs.edu/admission-and-aid/cost-and-aid to learn more about the FAFSA process at MCPHS.

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted, they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

4 — Send Your Transcripts to MCPHS

If you have taken college classes before, MCPHS will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.

Please contact any colleges you have attended and have them send your official transcripts directly to MCPHS.

Note: You may be able to use a service to request your transcripts. To learn more about this process, click here to access Guild's Transcript Help Center.

5 — Foreign Credential Requirements

If you completed previous education outside of the U.S. (foreign credentials), MCPHS requires official transcripts from non-U.S. secondary schools, colleges, or universities to be sent to World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) for a course-by-course evaluation.

Please confirm with MCPHS Admissions whether any additional requirements, such as translations or English-proficiency exams, apply to you before paying for an evaluation, translation, or exam. For MCPHS admissions information, visit MCPHS’s application and admissions page or contact Admissions at guild@mcphs.edu or 617-732-2824.

If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. MT).

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there aren't extra requirements to complete at MCPHS.

Transcripts can be emailed to guild@mcphs.edu.

Paper transcripts can be mailed to:
MCPHS Admission Office
179 Longwood Avenue
Boston, MA 02115

Note: It may take 1-2 months for transcripts to arrive at MCPHS, so order them as soon as possible.

Schedule a meeting with your MCPHS academic coach to prepare to start your program. Your academic coach is available to help you register for courses (if applicable), support you in your MCPHS program, discuss course-related questions, and share resources available to you at MCPHS. Please contact guild@mcphs.edu for assistance.

6 — Complete Your MCPHS Orientation Process

Once you are admitted, you will receive information about orientation. Make sure to take time to complete the MCPHS orientation process to learn more details about your program, expectations, and keys to your academic success!

7 — Get Your Books & Materials Ready

Get your books and other materials ready for your courses. Check the syllabus for each course to find out what you need, and be sure to keep your receipts - you may need them for returns or reimbursements.

8 — Stay Enrolled Through the Add/Drop Deadline

To remain eligible for Guild funding, stay enrolled in your MCPHS course(s) through the add/drop deadline for your term. This is when you complete Enrollment Verification, or EV. If you withdraw before the add/drop deadline, you may not be eligible for Guild funding for that term.

9 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support

Once you've remained enrolled through the add/drop deadline, you'll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at MCPHS.
