Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps in completing your application for your Mercy College of Ohio program:


1 — Make Sure You’re Eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Submit Your Mercy College of Ohio Application

Within 5 business days after your Guild application is approved, you will receive an email from Mercy College of Ohio with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Be sure to choose the same learning program on your Mercy College application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own. Please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the Mercy College of Ohio application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Mercy College of Ohio.

Make sure to read the email completely to understand what is required for your application.
1. You may be required to write a statement of interest for your Mercy College of Ohio, so remember to get started on the application in advance of any deadlines.
2. In addition, you may be required to speak with an Admissions Counselor at Mercy College of Ohio.
3. You may also be required to provide references. Please follow the instructions provided by Mercy College of Ohio in your application process, and request letters of recommendation from professional or academic references who can best speak to your ability to be successful in this program.

3 — Start Your FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The Federal School Code for the Mercy College of Ohio is 030970-00. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office.

You can also go directly to Mercy College Financial Aid to learn more about the FAFSA process at Mercy College.

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

4 — Send Your Transcripts to Mercy College of Ohio

If you have taken college classes before, Mercy College of Ohio will evaluate your transcripts and possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.

Note: You may be able to use a service to request your transcripts. To learn more about this process, click here to access Guild's Transcript Help Center.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Mercy College of Ohio.

  • A course-by-course (with GPA) evaluation of your transcripts by World Education Services (WES) is required. The evaluation must be sent directly to Mercy College of Ohio from the credential agency. Please review Mercy College of Ohio's policy for international transcripts:

  • An English translation of your non-English transcripts is required.

  • Confirm requirements with Mercy College of Ohio's Office of Admissions before paying out of pocket for an evaluation or translation.

Note: It may take 1-2 months for transcripts to arrive at Mercy College of Ohio, so order them as soon as possible.

5 — Confirm Acceptance at Mercy College of Ohio

Once you receive a decision letter from Mercy College of Ohio, following the instructions provided and be sure to take the appropriate steps to confirm your acceptance.

6 — Connect with Your Mercy College of Ohio Academic Advisor & Register for Courses

Schedule a meeting with your Mercy College of Ohio academic advisor to get ready for starting your program. Your academic advisor is available to help you register for courses (if applicable), support you in your Mercy College of Ohio program, discuss course-related questions, and share resources available to you at Mercy College of Ohio."

7 — Complete Your Mercy College of Ohio Orientation Process

Make sure to take time to complete the Mercy College of Ohio orientation process to learn more details about your program, expectations, and keys to your academic success!

8 — Get Your Books & Materials Ready

Get your books and other materials ready for your courses. Check the syllabus for each course to find out what you need, and be sure to keep your receipts - you may need them for returns or reimbursements.

9 — Complete Your First Academic Assignment Within the Add/Drop Period

Make sure you complete your first academic assignment within the add/drop period in order to stay enrolled in your program at Mercy College of Ohio. Failure to do so may result in you being automatically dropped from the program or prevent you from continuing.

10 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support

Once you’ve passed the add/drop window, you’ll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at Mercy College of Ohio.

11 — Complete Your Coursework at Mercy College of Ohio
