OpenClassrooms Next Steps to Enroll
Congratulations on taking the first steps towards your education goals. If you have not yet received your approval email from Guild, don’t worry, you should receive it within seven days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here’s what you’ll do next so you can begin your program next month: (1) Accept your spot (2) Apply to OpenClassrooms and (3) Activate your OpenClassrooms account and confirm your enrollment.
1 — Confirm your spot
Action Needed: Once your Guild application is approved, you'll need to confirm your spot in OpenClassrooms’ program for the next start date. Log in to your Guild account and visit your Applications page to confirm your spot, then OpenClassrooms will reach out to you with next steps. Be sure to confirm your spot by the 27th day of the month before your start date or you will have to start in a later term. For example, to enroll in January, you must confirm by December 29th.
If you don't confirm your spot by the 29th day, your start date will automatically update to the next start date available (up to 90 days out). You should be able to view your new start date and confirm your spot for the new start date within your Guild portal. If you don't confirm your spot for the updated start date, you will need to re-apply.
Next, sign in to your Guild account, and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. You must remain eligible right up to the first day of classes. **If you have questions, contact Guild support. Check eligibility here. (Note: If you are in a program that is at least 9 months long and says it requires “re-enrollment,” you will need to remain eligible throughout your program in order to complete it).
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there aren't extra requirements to complete at OpenClassrooms.
2 — Watch for OpenClassrooms Email #1: Apply to OpenClassrooms
Action Needed: Apply to OpenClassrooms! At the beginning of your cohort start month, you will receive Email #1 from OpenClassrooms with a link to their additional application. You will have around 5 business days to complete this required application, so please start preparing now.
Be sure to check your spam folder so you do not miss your invitation to apply. Feel free to reach out to the OpenClassrooms Admissions Specialist at http://oc.cm/contact-us if you have any questions or do not see an email within the first couple of business days of your program start month.
Please note: You need to apply for the same program and start date you were approved for through Guild. Changing these could result in invalidating your approval.
3 — Watch for OpenClassrooms Email #2: Activate your account and confirm enrollment
Action Needed: Activate your OpenClassrooms Account! Once you are accepted by OpenClassrooms, you will receive another email with everything you need to set up your account and start your program. In order to begin the program, you must schedule and attend your first session with your OpenClassrooms mentor. The first mentor session should occur in the first week and no later than 14 days after the program start date. Meeting your mentor will confirm your enrollment in the program.
You must meet with your mentor weekly in order to remain active in the program. You may be considered an inactive student and dropped from the program if you do not complete this first meeting.
4 — Once your program begins, connect with your Guild Growth Coach
Once you’ve been in your program for two weeks, be on the lookout for an email from your Guild Growth Coach. Your Guild Growth Coach will be there to support you in time management; setting personal education and career goals; balancing work, school, and life; and exploring options for post-graduation.
