Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within seven days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Southside College of Health Sciences :


1 — Make Sure You're Eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Submit Your Southside College of Health Sciences Application

Within 5 business days after your Guild application is approved, you will receive an email from Southside College of Health Sciences with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Be sure to choose the same learning program on your Southside College of Health Sciences application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own. Please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the Southside College of Health Sciences application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Southside College of Health Sciences.

Make sure to read the email completely to understand what is required for your application.
1. You may be required to write a statement of interest for Southside College of Health Sciences, so remember to get started on the application in advance of any deadlines.
2. In addition, you may be required to speak with an Admissions Counselor at Southside College of Health Sciences.
3. You may also be required to provide references. Please follow the instructions provided by Southside College of Health Sciences in your application process, and request letters of recommendation from professional or academic references who can best speak to your ability to be successful in this program.

3 — Start Your FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The Federal School Code for Southside College of Health Sciences (SCHS) is 012744. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.

4 — Send Your Transcripts to Southside College of Health Sciences

If you have taken college classes before, Southside College of Health Sciences will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Southside College of Health Sciences.

  • A course-by-course evaluation of your transcripts by a NACES member agency is required. The evaluation must be sent directly to Southside College of Health Sciences from the credential agency. 

  • An English translation of your non-English transcripts is required. 

  • An English proficiency exam may be required.

  • Confirm requirements with Bon Secours Southside College of Health Science's Admissions Department before paying out of pocket for an evaluation, translation, and/or exam.

Note: It may take 1-2 months for transcripts to arrive at Southside College of Health Sciences, so order them as soon as possible.

5 — Confirm Acceptance at Southside College of Health Sciences

Once you receive a decision letter from Southside College of Health Sciences, follow the instructions provided and be sure to take the appropriate steps to confirm your acceptance.

6 — Connect with Your Southside College of Health Sciences Academic Advisor & Register for Courses

Schedule a meeting with your Southside College of Health Sciences academic advisor to get ready for starting your program. Your academic advisor is available to help you register for courses (if applicable), support you in your Southside College of Health Sciences program, discuss course-related questions, and share resources available to you at Southside College of Health Sciences.

7 — Complete Your Southside College of Health Sciences Orientation Process

Make sure to take time to complete the Southside College of Health Sciences orientation process to learn more details about your program, expectations, and keys to your academic success!

8 — Get Your Books & Materials Ready

Get your books and other materials ready for your courses. Check the syllabus for each course to find out what you need, and be sure to keep your receipts - you may need them for returns or reimbursements.

9 — Complete an Academic Assignment within the Add/Drop Window

Make sure you complete an academic assignment by the add/drop window to stay enrolled in your program at Southside College of Health Sciences. Failure to do so may result in you being automatically dropped from the program or prevent you from continuing.

10 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support

Once you've passed the add/drop window, you’ll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at Southside College of Health Sciences.

11 — Complete Your Coursework at Southside College of Health Sciences

Your Guild support network, along with your Southside College of Health Sciences support team, will be there to offer guidance and support throughout your program.
