Get Accepted

Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within 7 to 10 business days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps to completing Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU):

1 — Connect with a SNHU admission counselor

Once your application has been submitted and your Guild benefit eligibility is approved, an SNHU admission counselor will call you (typically within 1-3 business days) to continue the application process. In the meantime, feel free to call SNHU directly at 888-607-3007 or e-mail admissions@snhu.edu.

2 — Complete the SNHU application process

SNHU will receive details from your Guild application, but it’s important that you connect with your SNHU admission counselor to finalize your official SNHU application.

The official SNHU application can be completed by phone with an admission counselor or you can submit your application through the SNHU applicant portal. You will be sent the portal login information via e-mail within 1-2 business days of your Guild eligibility approval.

Make sure that you apply for the same SNHU program that you applied to through Guild. Your approval by Guild to move forward in this program could become invalid if you apply to a different program, which would result in you becoming responsible for paying for your program out of pocket.

Please be sure to use the same email address you used on your Guild application when applying to SNHU. If you use a different email address, SNHU may not recognize you as a Guild student and this could cause issues with your eligibility and payments.

3 — Request transcripts (Optional for Undergrad)

Transcripts are not required for admission to SNHU. However, have college credit and would like them considered for transfer, work with your admission counselor to complete a Transcript Request Form. Be sure to indicate “Sophia” if you completed the Guild College Start program.

Transcripts are required for admission into graduate programs.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at SNHU.

  • A course-by-course evaluation of your transcripts by a NACES member agency or an AICE member agency is required. The evaluation must be sent directly to SNHU from the credential agency. Please review SNHU's policy for international transcripts:

  • An English proficiency exam with a minimum score may be required.

  • Confirm requirements with your SNHU admissions counselor or the International Admissions team before paying out of pocket for an evaluation and/or exam.

  • If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).

4 — Finalize FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. The Federal School Code for SNHU is 002580. If you have questions, feel free to call the Student Financial Services team at 877-455-7648.

Understand financial aid

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging/awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

5 — Check eligibility

Up until the first day of your courses, make sure you’re checking that you’re still eligible for your company’s education benefits. To do this, sign into your Guild account, then check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. Please contact Guild support for additional assistance.
