If you have received your Guild approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps for becoming a Guild student at Thomas Jefferson University:

State Requirements

Only residents of Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Virginia, and the District of Columbia are eligible to enroll in the MS in Midwifery program at this time.

Tech Requirements

Students may be required to download software to complete coursework as part of this program and should have access to a personal computer in order to download and access the required software. This software may not be downloadable or accessible on an employer-issued computer. Access to the internet is required for all programs.


1 — Make Sure You're Eligible

Check to make sure you're eligible for your company's education benefit, right up to the first day of your courses. Go to the Guild home page and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. For more information about eligibility, contact Guild support.

2 — Submit Your Thomas Jefferson University Application

You will receive an email from Thomas Jefferson University with directions on how to apply for acceptance into your chosen program. Be sure to choose the same learning program on your Thomas Jefferson University application that you selected on the Guild application, or you may have to pay for the program on your own. Please also be sure to use the same name, email address, and other personal information you used on your Guild application when completing the Thomas Jefferson University application. Using different information may result in delays for your start at Thomas Jefferson University.

Make sure to read the email completely to understand what is required for your application.

1. You may be required to write a statement of interest and provide a resume or CV for your Thomas Jefferson University, so remember to get started on the application in advance of any deadlines.

2. In addition, you may be required to speak with an Admission Counselor at Thomas Jefferson University and/or complete an interview (via phone or virtual) with representatives from the program.

3. You may also be required to provide references. Please follow the instructions provided by Thomas Jefferson University in your application process, and request letters of recommendation from professional or academic references who can best speak to your ability to be successful in this program.

3 — Start Your FAFSA

Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. Use the Thomas Jefferson University code 13549. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Federal Student Aid office. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging/awarding process, and accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted, they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

4 — Send Your Transcripts to Thomas Jefferson University

If you have taken college classes before, Thomas Jefferson University will use your transcripts to complete your application and to possibly apply credits to your new program. You may also have to submit your most recent high school transcripts.

Please contact any colleges you have attended and have them send your official transcripts directly to Thomas Jefferson University.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Thomas Jefferson University.

5 — Complete Your Thomas Jefferson University Orientation Process

7 — Pass the add/drop Period

Make sure you progress past the add/drop period in order to stay enrolled in your program at Thomas Jefferson University. Failure to do so may result in you being automatically dropped from the program or prevent you from continuing.

8 — Chat with Your Guild Growth Coach for Support

Once you've passed the add/drop period, you'll have a chance to talk with your Guild Growth Coach. This is the time to discuss your education and career aspirations, ask questions, and set goals for completing your program at Thomas Jefferson University.

9 — Complete Your Coursework at Thomas Jefferson University
