Step 1: Get accepted & Registered | Step 2: Get started | Step 3: Ongoing success
Step 1 : Get Accepted & Registered
Congrats on taking the first steps toward your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within 7 to 10 business days of submitting your Guild application.
If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps to completing your Wilmington University application:
1 — Complete the WilmU application process
Wilmington University will receive details from your Guild application, and (within 1-2 business days) will send you an email to claim your account. This email will contain a link to your personal portal where you can complete your application and check the status of your supplemental items. The email will also contain a promo code to waive the application fee. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail folder if you cannot find this email in your inbox.
It is important that you apply to the same WilmU program that you applied to through Guild. Your approval by Guild to move forward in this program could become invalid if you apply to a different program, and then you would become responsible for paying for your program out of pocket. To avoid confusion or errors, the program you applied for will be prepopulated when you claim your account.
We're here to help.
Ask a question, start a conversation, or request assistance during the application process —whatever you need, we're here for you.

2 — Request transcripts
Request official transcripts from any post-secondary schools that you’ve attended, such as trade and career schools, community colleges, and other universities. Have your previous schools send your transcripts to admissions@wilmu.edu.
If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at Wilmington University.
A foreign credential evaluation of your transcripts by a NACES member agency is required. The evaluation (general for high school transcripts, and course-by-course with GPA for college transcripts) must be sent directly to Wilmington University from the credential agency. Please review their policy for international transcripts:
An English Placement Assessment (ACCUPLACER) may be required. Please review Wilmington University’s policy:
Confirm requirements with Wilmington University's Enrollment Services before paying out of pocket for an evaluation, translation, and/or assessment.
If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).
See Submitting Your Transcripts for additional instructions and more information.
3 — Finalize the FAFSA
Gather important documents and complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. Make sure your financial aid application has WilmU’s Federal School Code: 007948. When you're finished, you may be offered awards which you can accept or decline.
Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: the FAFSA, any financial aid packaging / awarding process, and/or acceptance of any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted, they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support.
If you have questions about financial aid, please contact Wilmington University’s Engagement Center at Contact Us.
4 — Register for classes
Once Wilmington University receives your application and transcripts, we will begin the evaluation process, including a credit evaluation that will inform you whether any of your previously earned credits will transfer to your WilmU program. Within 7-10 business days, you will receive an email from WilmU with your First Course Suggestions, which are your recommended courses and registration instructions. WilmU offers classes in 15-week semesters and 7-week blocks. Learn more about course formats.
5 — Check eligibility
Up until the first day of your courses, be sure to check that you are still eligible for your company’s education benefits. To do this, sign into your Guild account, and check your eligibility status in the upper right-hand corner. Please contact Guild support for additional assistance, if needed.
