Step 1: Get accepted

Congrats on taking the first steps towards your education goals. Have you received your approval email from Guild? If not, don’t worry, you should receive an email within 7 to 10 business days of submitting your Guild application.

If you have received your approval email, double congratulations! Here are your next steps to completing your University of Denver (DU) program:

1 — Understand the process

Make sure you understand what you’ll need to do to receive tuition assistance. Tuition assistance is the word we use to describe the portion of your tuition that’s covered by your employer. In other words, it’s the “benefit” that you receive when you enroll in a qualified program. If you have further questions, reach out to Guild support.

If you applied to the Frontline Manager Leadership Program, please find your next steps here.

2 — Complete the DU application

Wait for an email from Guild that includes the link to the University of Denver website to start your online application. Make sure that you apply to the same DU program that you applied to through Guild. Your approval by Guild to move forward in this program could become invalid if you apply to a different program, which would result in you becoming responsible for paying for your program out of pocket.

  1. Start your application using the link sent from Guild or use this link.

  2. Once you submit the first page, check your email for an email titled "University College Application Credentials". This will include your sign-in info.

  3. Click the link in the email to continue your DU application.

    • Use the temporary pin provided in your email to sign in.

    • Set a new password.

  4. Once you set a new password, you’ll see any applications you've started under "Your Applications". Click on your application and select "Open Application".

  5. Fill out all sections of the application. If you have questions, reach out to Guild support.

3 — Find out about financial aid

If you told us you were interested in financial aid, keep an eye out for a follow up email from DU. This email will contain the types of aid available at DU and links to the application process on the school's website, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (also known as FAFSA).  If you apply for financial aid and receive any awards, follow the steps provided in the email and choose to accept or decline any awards you may have received.

Understand financial aid

Per the Employer policy, each student enrolling in a program that is eligible for federal financial aid may be required to complete one or more of the following items before initial program enrollment and annually thereafter: FAFSA, financial aid packaging / awarding process, accept any grant aid awarded. If any grants are accepted they will be applied to tuition and mandatory fees before employer payment. If you have questions regarding your Employer education benefit policy, please consult Guild support. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact your learning provider's financial aid office.

4 — Request your official transcripts to be sent directly to DU

Transcripts are required from any school you attended after high school. This includes: transfer credits, study abroad, and any courses taken at another institution that appear on your transcript.

If you have previous education outside of the U.S. (i.e., foreign credentials), there are extra requirements to complete to enroll at DU.

  • A foreign credential equivalency evaluation of your transcripts is required. Please see the relevant category below to understand next steps.

    • Applicants for undergraduate certificates or the Bachelor of Arts Completion Program (BACP): Submit your transcripts to DU’s Undergraduate Admissions Office. Once they receive your transcripts, their international credential evaluators will complete an internal review of your transcripts.

    • Applicants for graduate programs: Submit your transcripts to DU’s Graduate Admissions Office, along with a non-refundable $50 fee for credential evaluation. Once they receive your transcripts and the fee, DU will work with the Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) for a course-by-course or general evaluation on your behalf.

      • Note: DU will not accept an ECE evaluation submitted by the applicant, and the evaluation must go through DU.

  • An English translation of your non-English transcripts is required.

  • An English proficiency exam (TOEFL, IELTS, DET or CAE) with a minimum score may be required. Please review DU’s policy on English proficiency:

  • Confirm requirements with DU's Admissions Department before paying out of pocket for an evaluation, translation, and/or exam.

  • If you need more help with the foreign credentials process, please review this article. You can also message Guild Support or call 1-800-985-4027 (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. MT).

If you have further questions, contact DU admissions at: ucolsupport@du.edu or 303-871-2291.
